BIOGRAPHYDISTANT is a formidable force in the Deathcore genre, originating from the unique combination of Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Bratislava, Slovakia. Since their formation in 2014 by bassist Elmer Maurits and guitarist Nouri Yetgin, the band has made significant strides in establishing themselves as a leading name in the international Deathcore scene. Musical Journey and Releases The band's journey began with the release of their debut EP Tsukuyomi in 2017, which quickly garnered attention from major record labels. This was followed by their debut album Tyrannotophia in 2019, released under Unique Leader Records, which solidified their presence in the metal community. Their sound, characterized by intense compositions and thematic depth, continued to evolve with the release of Aeons Of Oblivion in 2021.In 2022, Distant signed a three-album deal with Century Media Records, marking a new chapter in their career. Under this label, they released Heritage in early 2023, further cementing their reputation on the global stage. This album showcased a more produced, faster, and technical sound, reflecting the band's ongoing evolution. Unique Themes and Live Performances Distant is not only known for their music but also for creating an expansive fictional universe. The band members have written science fiction narratives, such as The Rise Of Tyrannotophia, which serve as the foundation for their lyrics and musical compositions. This unique storytelling aspect sets them apart in the Deathcore genre.Their live performances are celebrated for their energy and precision, often selling out venues across Europe and the United States.
